Dafna Bliss

Years at Gesher: 2002-2007

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology Master’s Degree in Social Work

Dafna is currently living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Mary Washington.

She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburg in Spring of 2017.

Dafna is currently working as a child welfare social worker, doing in-home work all over her county. Dafna lives in a Moishe House, which is an organization focused on building community by hosting events for young Jewish adults in the area.

Dafna has recently returned from a trip to China.

Looking back on my days at Gesher, what stands out to me the most is the powerful sense of community. Spending every day surrounded by such funny, kind, and strong students and staff always made even the worst days feel like they were going to be okay.

BS in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech, MS in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University, PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University

Josh was a member of Gesher’s first class!

He has worked as an engineer for The Boeing Company in commercial aircraft since 2006. Josh has worked advanced concepts, new airplane development, and then went on to be a lead engineer on the 737 MAX program.

Josh is now a project engineer on the 737 program. After finishing school, Josh moved to Seattle from West Lafayette, IN (Purdue) in 2006, and has been content there ever since.
